First, a copy of our spoiler policy as taken directly from the userinfo:
1. We make every attempt to note spoilers for fic, pics, and icons when we see them, but sometimes we don’t see them. Please understand that it is up to each reader to be aware of that when clicking on links to unfamiliar journals. Once an episode has aired in the U.S., the title and characters may be mentioned in the newsletter.
2. If you have ANY spoilers outside of a cut-tag for an episode that has not yet aired in the United States — text or pictures — and we see your post while compiling the newsletter, you will lose the privilege of being linked in the newsletter indefinitely. No warnings, no exceptions.
3. If you leave a direct link in a comment for the newsletter to a post that contains spoilers, even behind a cut-tag, and you do not warn for the spoilers (since clicking on the link will bypass the cut-tag), you will lose the privilege of being linked in the newsletter indefinitely. No warnings, no exceptions.
Now. We’ve had a few coders spoiled lately because people are making icons and including screencaps and picspams on their fics using pictures from episodes that haven’t aired yet in the U.S. We let the first few slide, but it’s becoming more and more frequent, so we’re going to have to start being really strict about this. So. Please note:
Icons, screencaps, picspams, etc, using pictures from as yet unaired SPN episodes MUST BE MARKED CLEARLY AS SPOILERS SO THEY CAN BE CODED ACCORDINGLY. If they are not marked as spoilers, and one of our coders comes across it while compiling the newsletter, your work will NOT be linked to, and you WILL lose the privilege of being linked in the newsletter indefinitely. Our coders are doing a service for fandom, and deserve to be as unspoiled as the rest of us if they choose.
PLEASE MARK YOUR SPOILERY FICS, ICONS, SCREENCAPS, ETC, ACCORDINGLY.
The bottom line is that anything that has not yet aired in the U.S. is a spoiler. The end. No exceptions.
